Incisive Media celebrates its superstars at the annual awards ceremony

The ninth Incisive Media Awards took place at The Troxy last night with more than 500 UK staff loudly applauding the winners as they came to the stage, with teams in New York and Hong Kong listening in online

It was a night of celebration, said chief executive Tim Weller: “These awards show that we have great people and great products. In tough market conditions you have continued to innovate and excel and I want to thank each and every one of you for the fabulous contribution you make to Incisive Media”.

Joining Tim Weller on stage to present the awards was group managing director James Hanbury and he echoed Mr Weller’s sentiments: “The finalists are the very best of the best. It was often very tough deciding who should be on the shortlists and if you entered and didn’t make it please still be proud of your achievements. There is so much to be proud of in what Incisive Media and its fantastic people – you – have achieved.”

There were 22 award categories and among the key winners was the Hong Kong-based Asian Venture Capital Journal which scooped the Brand of the Year award. App development featured prominently in the awards with FX Week winning Digital Initiative of the Year and Computing Resources snapping up Innovation of the Year.

The awards for the top employees are always a highlight of the Incisive Media Awards and they represent the global presence of Incisive Media.

Tim Weller also made a special Chief Executive’s Award for Outstanding Contribution to the editorial director of the Financial Risk Management Division, Nick Sawyer, who he praised as “one of the quiet heroes of the business”.

Following the awards, it was over to the 1980s themed party. Staff danced and sang the night away with the help of a fabulous live karaoke band – Rockaroke. There were prizes for the best 1980s fancy dress and plenty of opportunity for staff to get up on stage with the band and sing their favourite musical hits.

The staff also raised more than £1,200 for the Incisive Media Foundation in a raffle for which many suppliers generously donated prizes.
