Volunteers from Incisive Media’s Hong Kong office gave 19 children a day to remember with a visit Hong Kong Disneyland. The outing, in August, was sponsored by the Super Car Club and organised by Po Leung Kuk, a leading social services provider
The 19 children, aged 5 to 16, who are either orphans or from families with a history of child abuse or other problems, reside in Po Leung Kuk residential centre.
“We met early on Sunday morning at 7:50am at the Po Leung Kuk headquarters in Causeway Bay,” said one of the volunteers. “Then a coach took us to the Skycity Marriott Hotel for a buffet breakfast. During our journey, there were 20+ racing cars driven by Super Car Club members following our coach.
“After breakfast, the coach took us to the HK Disneyland, where the children were invited to ride in the racing cars. Inside HK Disneyland we played several games and watched a couple of shows – Space Mountain, the Lion King and the Jungle River Boat were particular highlights.”
“It’s like I’m dreaming… I dreamed about playing in the Disneyland and now I am!” said an eight-year boy.
The 20 Incisive Media staff volunteers included: Aaron Woolner, Irene Lo, Carolyn Law, Emma-Jayne King, Phoebe Ngok, Andrew Tjaardstra, Herbert Yum, Debbie Koo, Tim Wong, Connie U, Jayla Tam, Lucy Tarbard, Yeni Kittrell, Edith Leung, Jovial Chung, Yiwei Lim, Xiao Wang and Jun Leung.
